Andre Onana signed a contract with Man United, making him the fourth-most expensive goalkeeper in history.

Recently, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Manchester United officially signed goalkeeper Andre Onana from Inter Milan. The Italian journalist used the familiar “Here we go” mantra to confirm the accuracy of the deal. The Cameroon goalkeeper is expected to soon be at Old Trafford to replace David De Gea.

According to Romano, MU will have to spend 55 million euros (£47 million) in this deal. Of which, 50 million euros will be immediately paid by the “Red Devils” to Inter Milan and the remaining 5 million euros depending on performance. Onana will receive a salary of 150,000 pounds / week at Old Trafford with a contract until the summer of 2028, with an automatic extension of 1 year.

After a long time of negotiation and twice refusing MU’s offers, Inter Milan finally had to accept Andre Onana to join the “Red Devils”. Previously, Onana was very interested in the prospect of joining the Old Trafford team and expressed interest in reuniting his old teacher Erik ten Hag.

Andre Onana is Man United’s second “blockbuster” in the summer transfer window of 2023 after Mason Mount. Previously, coach Erik ten Hag’s team also spent £ 60 million to recruit the English midfielder from Chelsea.

As for Onana, the Cameroonian goalkeeper will become the fourth most expensive goalkeeper in football history after Kepa Arrizabalaga (Chelsea), Alisson (Liverpool) and Buffon (Juventus). The 2022/23 Champions League runner-up is expected to replace the position De Gea left after leaving on July 8.

As expected, Andre Onana will complete the medical examination and debut MU this weekend. The 27-year-old goalkeeper is likely to inherit De Gea’s No.1 shirt and will join the team on a summer tour in the US from July 23.
