This unique apartment in NYC is done in pastel pink and green, with Mexican aesthetics and cacti-inspired designs

Architecture and interior design practice Reutov Design has proposed a brightly colored, Mexican-inspired apartment in New York City. Featuring terracotta pink and green hues, the interiors seem to out of this world, where designer furniture meets a cactus-infused landscape. The owners of the apartment are a young couple that completely entrusted Reutov Design with the design of the apartment. This dwelling is an opportunity to forget about everyday life and help them take a break from the noisy metropolis.

Guests are welcomed through a pastel green door that opens up to a bi-tone interior featuring mostly green and pink — green for the flooring and some columns while pink is used on the walls and ceiling. The softness of these two pastel shades translates into the furniture which is made mostly of bulbous shapes. from a bubbly Roche Bobois green sofa to minimal lamps, the design of this apartment takes careful consideration of every single detail. Terrazzo counters and gradient walls are other of the design elements that make up the space.

One of the most important elements in the interiors is the cacti, this is a cosmic plant with a unique design. Featuring all sizes and types, the cacti are placed around the apartment both in planters and in pictures. from the entrance, to the kitchen and bedroom, these plants are protagonists of the design. all cactus are different. Each one has its own shape, its own shade. In a creative interpretation, the designers depicted a cactus in the form of columns. They are of different colors and shapes and located chaotically in the most unpredictable places, just like they do in natural landscapes.
