Tiger Woods’ private jet was recently spotted in Milton, an area hit by a threatening hurricane. The American golfer has been away from the greens for the past few months. However, RadarAtlas reported that his Gulfstream 550, worth around $53 million (via Jet Finder), was recently seen leaving the Milton area.
On Wednesday, 9 October, a deadly hurricane struck the region, causing significant damage. According to the US National Hurricane Center, 205 km/h of windspeed was recorded in Milton, moving from the northeast. Amid the natural disaster, RadarAtlas reported Tiger Woods’ jet departing the area. However, there are not many details about where the plane was heading.
This is the second natural calamity to hit the county in the past few weeks. Hurricane Helene recently caused widespread damage in the southeastern part of the country.
Golf journalist Amanda Balionis stepped up to help the community in need during these difficult times. Her organization, Puppies and Golf, has collected donations for the community affected by Hurricane Helene. She shared a post on Instagram, urging fans to contribute, saying:
“Our team has been working literally around the clock to come up with a game plan to help shelters and communities so deeply impacted by Hurricane Helene and we are ready to get fundraising efforts going.”
“We have targeted five different shelters in three different areas spanning North Carolina, Tennessee and Augusta Georgia. We have not forgotten about you … But we have shelters that have completely demolished, we have shelters that have been flooded by sewage, we have shelters that have lost every single one of their dry items,” she added.
Now, yet another hurricane has affected the area. Heavy rains have caused flooding, worsening the situation.
Tiger Woods spends the off-season constructing a new golf course in Texas
Woods has not played in an event since his outing at The Open Championship in July 2024. He also has no plans to return to the greens until December. However, during his time away from the course, the 48-year-old golfer has been busy designing a new golf course.
The 15-time Major winner owns TGR Design, a company renowned for designing golf courses. Its latest project is developing a golf course at Bluejack Ranch in a Texas town. Speaking about the new project, Woods said, via CBS Sports:
“Our shared vision of creating space where families can enjoy the game and have fun inspires us all once again at The Ranch. It’s extremely motivating for me to contribute to the golfing legacy of Fort Worth, and I’m excited to see what we’ll build together.”
Meanwhile, Tiger Woods is likely to return to professional competition at the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas. The tournament will take place from 5 to 8 December. Following this, Woods is expected to play at the 2024 PNC Championship in December.
