Jason Kelce is more than happy for a specific cat-tastrophe to occur.
To avoid bringing a new kitty into the household, the former Philadelphia Eagles player has been telling his and wife Kylie Kelce‘s daughters Wyatt, 4, Elliotte, 3, and Bennett, 18 months, that cats are poisonous.
And while he knows it’s not true, he noted it’s his “latest plan to divert our family from getting a cat” on the Sep. 4 of his New Heights podcast with brother Travis Kelce.
Travis was aghast by Jason’s tactic, saying, “They’re going to go over a friend’s house and f–kin’ scream bloody murder ’cause they see a cat.”
And as one user on X pointed out, this will likely happen sooner rather than later as Travis’ girlfriend Taylor Swift is famous for her feline friends: Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson and Benjamin Button.
“And what is jason’s plan when they meet auntie taytay’s cats?” the user wrote, to which Jason replied, “It’s gonna be hilarious.”
Another fan even tried to get Jason on the cat-train, writing, “Since Jason Kelce is on Swiftie Twitter here’s a reason his girls need cats. Cat purrs help heal bones and promote good bone density. #notpoisonous.”
But the 36-year-old wasn’t having it, responding, “This is the biggest load of Cat Pseudoscience I’ve ever heard! You can’t tell me you actually believe this.”

And while he’s not quite sure what his big beef with cats is—especially as Travis pointed out on their podcast that the two grew up with them—Jason is very sure he doesn’t want one.
He added, “There’s something about cats I don’t like.”
And Jason sees no problem with making his girls scared of the animals, joking, “I think lying to your kids is important.”
“I’m like, ‘Listen, if you have a cat, the government will come and take it from you because they’re so lethal,'” he told his 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren. “‘I mean, they can 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁 you. They don’t even have to bite you, just them licking you—you feel their tongue has little needles on it.'”
Travis truly couldn’t believe what he was hearing, telling his big bro, “You’re a psycho.”

And while Jason might not be promoting Taylor’s love of cats to his kids, he is all about them listening to the Grammy winner’s music. In fact, he recently revealed that he and his daughters have been rocking out to The Tortured Poets Department, and that Elliotte is especially fond of the track “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart.”
“Ellie right now, there’s a line in that, ‘I’m a real tough kid / I can handle my s–t.’ And Ellie’s 3 years old,” he explained on the Pivot Podcast Sep. 3, “and she says, ‘I’m a tough kid / I can handle my stuff.'”
