Rumors of beef between Kanye, now known as Ye, and Big Sean have existed for years.
In one of the most famous examples of the beef, in 2021, Ye claimed that signing Big Sean to his record label, Good Music, was “the worst thing he had ever done.”
Now it seems that Sean’s recent musical efforts have angered some Ye fans, with one even going so far as to leak the former’s unreleased album.
A total of 14 tracks ended up being leaked online, per Hot New Hip Hop.
“Since he wanna disrespect Ye so much, here’s the album,” the internet user reportedly posted.
“F**k him and his whole team.”
They claimed that Ye had told them directly to leak the album.
There is nothing to support the internet user’s claims.
Big Sean, who boasts more than 13 million followers on X, has spoken out about the alleged leak.
“Might as well start droppin, before they leak it all, got [sic] damn,” he said.
Fans sympathized with Big Sean after the leak.
“The most underrated rapper with crazy bars that people don’t pay attention too,” one fan said.
“Y’all really be hating on Big Sean… he got bars,” another chimed.
Rap fans described Big Sean as a legend while others said they were hungry for more songs.
THE FREESTYLE
Big Sean recently appeared on the On the Radar Radio and performed a freestyle over the classic 1996 Aaliyah track, If Your Girl Only Knew, per Billboard.
One bar referred to the rapper’s past when he was part of Kanye’s record label before quitting in 2021.
“I had to switch the home team ’cause they committed treason,” he rapped.
“N***s looking for engagement like they got their knee bent.
“I got better things to do than find someone to beef with.
“Or else I’m off the deep end.
“This game will take you either way, you know it’s offense-defense.”
Speculation mounted that Kendrick Lamar was being targeted in the bars but DJ Hed said it was aimed at a different Gemini, hinting at Kanye.
The supposed hit at Kanye angered the rapper’s fans, resulting in Sean’s album leak.
A TRICKY HISTORY
Big Sean and Ye’s apparent beef dates back years.
“When I die, on my tombstone it’s gonna say, ‘I deserve to be here because I signed Big Sean,’” Ye said on the Drink Champs podcast in 2021.
Kanye also seemed to blast Big Sean for not backing his 2020 presidential campaign.
“I changed this man’s family and both John Legend and Big Sean, when I ran for office, got used quick by the Democrats to come at they boy that actually changed they life [sic],” Kanye claimed.
Big Sean revealed in November 2021 that he doesn’t have any political affiliations.
“That’s what’s hilarious, none of it’s true n he doesn’t even know what he talking about. I’m rolling [sic],” he said on X.
Ye also made fun of Big Sean’s song, Dance (A**), during the interview.
He said that he urged Big Sean not to choose that title.
“I always want to make a song that if I’m going through the airport and people sing my song, it’s my theme music,” Ye said.
The song featured as part of the album Finally Famous and Kanye West was the executive producer.
More than 80,000 copies of the album were sold in its first week.
Big Sean clapped back at Kanye’s comments and said on X, “Was just wit this man, he ain’t say none of that!!! And this was after the interview! I’m dying laughing at you.”
Big Sean left West’s Good Music label after 14 years in 2021.
He followed stars such as John Legend, Kid Cudi, and Common who have all also left the music label, per Billboard.
