A source in England said that former midfielder David Beckham is “worried and scared” because his beloved daughter Harper is entering puberty and dating.
The little girl turns 13 today (July 10) and is entering her teenage years. When she was little, the former England star understood that any dating at this stage was innocent, but it would become challenging when she got older, Mirror said.
His three sons Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz were all allowed to date as teenagers, but Becks found it difficult to accept the idea of Harper dating at this age, according to Heat .
A source shared on Heat : “David and Harper have a special bond. He is a protective father, so he is clearly afraid that his little girl will be hurt when she falls in love.”
The little girl was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 in 2011 when Becks was about to retire, so he had a lot of time at home with his daughter. Watching her grow up made him “feel sentimental” when Harper started her teenage years, the newspaper said.
The source added that Harper is “really changing,” so in some ways, Becks misses her younger days. “She’s started dressing up, putting on makeup, doing her hair, and going out with her friends. Harper is always talking about fashion and beauty with her mom,” a close friend of the Becks said.
In an interview a few years ago, Becks humorously said about his protective nature towards his 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren that all he needed was “a shotgun”.
In 2013, the former MU midfielder also joked that he would treat his daughter like “Rapunzel” in the tower, preventing boys from flirting with her. Becks said it was not because he loved his daughter more, but because his three older sons were more independent.
In addition to her father, Harper also has three bodyguards: her brothers Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz – who also love and protect their sister. Becks said he found his daughter to be “extremely sensitive”.
