Elon Musk shows off rare photos of himself 30 years ago

Tech billionaire Elon Musk posted a photo taken in 1994, when he was 23, on the occasion of his 53rd 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡day.

“30 years ago,” Musk wrote on X on June 28, with a photo taken on July 31, 1994. In the photo, he stands near the beach with the American flag flying behind him. The post attracted nearly 77 million views, 30,000 comments and more than 45,000 shares after just a few hours of publication.

Mrs. Maye, Elon Musk’s mother, also posted a happy 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡day to the American billionaire and wished him to always smile as brightly as when he was 4 years old.

Elon Musk was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 on June 28, 1971 in Pretoria, South Africa. From a young age, he showed his business talent when he and his younger brother sold homemade chocolate and programmed his first computer game at the age of 12.

Musk has spoken publicly about the challenges of his youth, including his parents’ divorce, being bullied at school and struggling to learn social norms.

He left South Africa to study in Canada and the United States, attending the prestigious University of Pennsylvania to study economics and physics. During his career, he has co-founded six technology companies, including brain chip company Neuralink, space rocket company SpaceX, and innovation investment firm Boring Company.
