France vs Poland football commentary: No need for Mbappe

Detailed commentary, performance assessment and prediction of results of the match between France and Poland in Group D of EURO 2024 taking place at 11:00 p.m. on June 25.

The French team is sure to qualify for the next round. Poland no longer has a chance to continue. The confrontation between the two teams in the final round of Group D is only to determine France’s ranking position.

Comment on France vs Poland

Kylian Mbappe returned to training with a mask to protect his nose. However, the French team does not need this star in a match that no longer has much meaning. The situation in Group B ended this morning (June 25), ensuring the reigning World Cup runner-up team a place in the 1/8 round.

Calculating opponents in the next round is not a concern for the French team. As long as they don’t fall to third place, “Les Bleus” will eliminate the risk of encountering Spain or England soon.

The French team is stronger than its opponents. Coach Didier Deschamps’ students just need to adjust their “sight scale”.

Against a difficult opponent, the Netherlands, the French team still created many opportunities. Their problem is finishing. Even a classy star like Antoine Griezmann is incredibly unlucky in front of the opponent’s goal.

Meanwhile, Poland clearly shows its limitations. Robert Lewandowski is not at his best, which means the Polish team has lost support. Their attack was deadlocked and the defense had to rely on goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny’s saving grace.

Force information

Mbappe is unlikely to return to the starting lineup. If not risky, coach Deschamps can use Mbappe for half the match to help him regain the feeling of the ball.

The French team does not need Mbappe in this match.

Aurelien Tchouameni’s full recovery will give coach Deschamps a “headache” in choosing in midfield. The Real Madrid player will compete for a starting position with Adrien Rabiot.

The Polish team lost Bartosz Salamon due to an ankle injury. Lewandowski will likely start for the first and last time at EURO 2024.

France squad prediction: Maignan; Kounde, Saliba, Upamecano, Hernandez; Kante, Rabiot; Dembele, Griezmann, Thuram; Mbappe

Poland squad prediction : Szczesny; Bednarek, Dawidowicz, Kiwior; Frankowski, Zielinski, Slisz, Moder, Zalewski; Swiderski, Lewandowski
