Man Utd offer flops Jadon Sancho and Antony to Saudi Pro League clubs in £100m plan to recoup some of staggering fees spent

WHAT HAPPENED?

United spent a total of £155 million (£197m) to sign the two wingers but neither transfer has truly worked out. Sancho was banished from the Red Devils this squad after hitting back at Erik ten Hag after the coach criticised his effort’s in training, and was subsequently loaned to Borussia Dortmund. Antony, meanwhile, has failed to score or assist a goal in 22 appearances this season and has been in and out of the starting XI.

United are ready to offload the England international and the Brazilian and hope to recover the highest possible fees in order to fund further investments. Evening Standard reports that the Red Devils have reached out to big-spending clubs in Saudi Arabia in the hopes of finding interested clubs. The Middle Eastern clubs spent big money recruiting stars from Europe’s top leagues last summer but are reportedly working on smaller budgets for the January transfer window. United are though to be hopeful of getting £50m ($64m) for each winger next summer.

DID YOU KNOW?

The Saudi clubs are said to be eyeing some big deals in the summer transfer window, though, as it was claimed they want to land Mohamed Salah, Kevin De Bruyne and Son Heung-min, while United duo Casemiro and Raphael Varane have also been linked. Sancho had been tipped for a January move to Al-Ettifaq but Steven Gerrard’s team refused to include a £50m obligation to buy as part of the deal.

The Old Trafford club will hope Sancho manages to get back to his best in Germany to ensure he attracts interest and possibly a big transfer fee over the summer. Meanwhile, Ten Hag will hope to get Antony firing for the club once again between now and the end of the season.
