This Los Angeles Lakers vs. Golden State Warriors story is incredible
While with the Los Angeles Lakers as a rookie, Mo Wagner had a hilarious moment with Kevin Durant, Draymond Green, and DeMarcus Cousins while facing the Golden State Warriors.
“My first couple of years, I talk a lot, obviously,” Wagner said. “I’ve kinda put that back a little bit. One of the first times I matched up against Kevin Durant, dude I’m a huge NBA fan… All of the sudden I’m on the court with them and obviously, my first year I’m a little star-struck. Kevin Durant guards me and I think he’s not taking me seriously at all, he doesn’t even know who I was. I’m on a pick and pop three and he fouls me, and I didn’t realize it was him, and I like and I was like, ‘Yeah, you can’t guard me.’ I have no credibility whatsoever at this point, and it’s Kevin Durant I just talked smack to. It was the Warriors, it was him, Draymond Green, DeMarcus Cousins that were on the free throw line box out, talking sh-t to me while I was shooting three free throws. I’m telling you, I was so shook. I made 1 out of 3. I think there’s like a replay where you can see Quinn Cook on the sideline laughing his ass off, because those three guys were going at me. I set myself up for that though, I deserved that.”

Those Warriors teams were so dominant, and players like Durant, Green, and Cousins were certainly among the league’s best trash talkers at that time. Learning this the hard way, Wagner accidentally talked trash to Durant.
