This would be awful to see.
The winter of Shohei Ohtani is here, and Angels fans everywhere are waiting like everyone else to see where he will sign. There is a quiet hope that he could end up coming back, even if it feels like a pipe dream.
Most fans have made their peace that he will leave the organization, but there has been talk about him joining some teams in the AL West. Luckily it seems that the Seattle Mariners may be out of the equation, but the Texas Rangers are still in the mix.
Texas is coming off winning the World Series, and adding Ohtani would almost be unfair. Rangers pitcher Max Scherzer joined the Foul Territory show and made his pitch for Ohtani to join the squad.

Ohtani has made it clear that his desire to win would be the biggest factor in his free agency, and unfortunately, the Rangers can offer that to him. They are an attractive destination spot for the two-way superstar, along with the Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Dodgers and others.
If Ohtani were to join Texas, it would be awful to see for Angels fans. It’s one thing for him to sign elsewhere, but to sign in the division would be terrible.
Fans have no interest in having to see him consistently for the foreseeable future on a division rival, and it would make competing in the AL West even tougher. It’s already going to be an uphill battle for the Halos with the Houston Astros, Mariners and Rangers, so adding Ohtani would be catastrophic.
Hopefully, Ohtani decides to leave the AL West, if he does leave the Angels. The future of the Angels in the division may depend on it.
