Diogo Dalot risks Cristiano Ronaldo’s wrath as he trolls ex-Man Utd star over Piers Morgan interview

DIOGO DALOT has cheekily risked the wrath of Cristiano Ronaldo after hilariously trolling the legend on Instagram.

The former Manchester United team-mates are currently together on international duty for Portugal preparing for the Euro qualifiers against Slovakia and Bosnia & Herzegovina.

Full-back Dalot, 24, and iconic striker Ronaldo struck up quite the bond after the 38-year-old returned to Old Trafford in 2021.

But while Dalot remains part of Erik ten Hag’s squad with the Red Devils, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner made an explosive exit last December.

He was released by United following a bombshell interview with Piers Morgan where he claimed that he felt the club had “betrayed” him and revealed he had “no respect” for Ten Hag.

Ronaldo also stated that the United were at least THREE YEARS off challenging City for Premier League title.

And he also took aim at some of the youngsters at Old Trafford, saying: “They don’t listen. They don’t care. They’re not going to have longevity in their career.

“This generation, not many are going to reach the level.

“I don’t think they disrespect experienced players, that’s not the word. But it’s a different generation.

“There’s no hunger, they have things too easy. They don’t suffer.

“All leagues in the world, the youngest now, they are not the same as my generation. But we cannot blame them because, it’s part of life, you know.

“The new generation and the new technologies that distract them for another thing so… but they are not the same.”

He did, however, name his compatriot Dalot as one of just THREE stars giving 100 per cent to try and restore United to their former glories.

And Dalot could not resist poking fun of that as he sat alongside Ronaldo, who was busy on his mobile phone, while they were together this week.

He quickly snapped a picture of the now Al-Nassr ace and shared it on his Instagram story along with a light-hearted message mocking his senior colleague’s past remarks.

Dalot wrote: “This new generation always on the phone.”

Meanwhile, this summer Dalot had claimed that United’s squad would have been happy for the goal-machine to stay.

He said: “We know the quality that Cristiano brings, it was a mutual decision to take different paths and we just have to accept it.

“We wanted Cristiano to be with us. we tried to make the most of the time it was in and it still gave us a lot.

“We have to live with the decision that was made, look forward and with the weapons we have continue to fight.”
