22-year-old Chelsea player now expected to be available for Arsenal clash after injury scare

Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson should be ready for the Blues’ match against Arsenal after the international break.

According to the Evening Standard, Nicolas Jackson has had minor surgery on his wrist but is expected to be available for the London derby at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea fans would have been worried when Senegal announced that the 22-year-old had withdrew from their squad because of injury, but it appears there is no reason to panic.

Jackson managed to get his name on the scoresheet last time out, finding the back of the net in his side’s 4-1 win against Burnley.

It was his third goal of the campaign, with the Senegal international previously netting versus Brighton & Hove Albion and Luton Town.

A relief for Mauricio Pochettino

When it comes to injuries, Chelsea can just not catch a break at the moment.

Axel Disasi has also had to withdraw from his national team’s squad, while so many of the Blues’ other players were not called up for this round of international fixtures because of their own injury problems.

The likes of Reece James, Ben Chilwell and Christopher Nkunku have all had fitness issues this season.

According to another report from the Evening Standard, though, James is expected to be back for the Arsenal game.

The above is why Pochettino will be pleased to hear that Jackson’s injury problem is a minor one. Chelsea have found a bit of form in their last couple of games and will not want anything to 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁 that.
