Johnny Depp is trying to sell an entire village in the Provence region of France. He’s had all the houses in the village rebuilt, and the roads repaved.
Johnny Depp still owns an entire village in the Provence region of France.
The 59-year-old star has owned the village for more than two decades, despite having it on the market since 2015.
Johnny Depp made this extravagant purchase in 2001, back when he was dating fellow actress and French native Vanessa Paradis.
It’s unclear how much money the actor had to fork out to buy the abandoned village, but we do know he spent more than $10 million bringing the place back to life.
He had all the houses in the village rebuilt and refurbished, and the roads repaved.
He even added a super cute French-style restaurant / cafe called ‘Chez Marceline’.
The actor first listed the village back in 2015 for $27 million and then again the following year.
Fast-forward to two years ago, 2021, and the village hit the market again, this time for $63 million, and then again last year for $55 million.
The village is located around 27 km (17 miles) from the glamorous French Riviera city of St Tropez.
It’s made up of six guest houses, one of which was the original village church, along with a main house.
It also has a town square, a skate park, a gym, a wine cave, and two swimming pools.
Johnny Depp’s French village is surrounded by 300-year-old oaks, olive groves and vineyards.
It’s expensive, but spectacular.
Johnny Depp recently made headlines due to a controversial and highly-publicized defamation lawsuit involving his ex-wife Amber Heard.
The jury ruled in Depp’s favor and awarded the actor $10 million in compensatory damages.
Depp also recently signed a $20 million deal with Dior, the biggest men’s fragrance contract ever.
