Sofyan Amrabat Speaks Out On Permanent Manchester United Transfer After Dazzling Debut

anchester United midfielder Sofyan Amrabat “would love” to extend his stay at the club after impressing on his debut.

The Moroccan signed on loan for an £8.6million fee at the end of the summer transfer window before finally making his bow in an unorthodox left-back role as United beat Crystal Palace 3-0 in the Carabao Cup.

United have Amrabat’s future in their hands with a pre-agreed £17.1m option for a permanent transfer, which includes a further £4.3m in add-ons.

“I don’t think about that,” Amrabat said of his long-term future. “For me, today, I am a Manchester United player.

“The only thing I can do every day is to give everything that I have, to do my best, to try to help the team. I hope we have a fantastic season, I hope we can win something and then later we will see what will happen.

“Of course, I would love to stay here, but that’s not important for me. I don’t look too far into the future.”

United’s rivals Liverpool were also linked with Amrabat, who was formerly a target for Tottenham. The 27-year-old revealed after Tuesday night’s win at Old Trafford that he fielded several offers for his services.

“After the last game with [Fiorentina], the Conference League final with West Ham, from that moment, the window started for me,” he explained.

“A lot of clubs, a lot of speaking, talking, but for me it was clear I wanted Manchester United.

“It was long, long months for me, difficult months for me, but at the end it’s nice on the last day that I signed here and that I’m here is now the most important [thing].”
