Kevin Durant’s 32.2 points scoring average against OKC is his highest against any NBA team.
Kevin Durant is acknowledged as one of the greatest scorers ever in the history of the NBA by both fans and his peers. Durant’s unique combination of shooting touch and size makes him a deadly offensive weapon that is hard to stop.
Former scoring champion Tracy McGrady once said that Durant is the best 1-on-1 scorer ever because, with his size, he can quickly go to his spots. Ex-Showtime Lakers defensive stalwart Michael Cooper also raved about KD’s scoring ability and talked about him having an unguardable shot because of his size.
Other than testimonies, KD’s body of work proves that he is among the best scorers ever. Among others, the Slim Reaper is a four-time NBA scoring champion and is currently 13th in the NBA’s all-time scoring list with 26,892 career points.
13th top scorer in NBA history
The 34-year-old is coming off his 15th NBA season, where he averaged 29.1 points per game in 48 total games played between the Brooklyn Nets and Phoenix Suns. Durant began the 2023 NBA season in Brooklyn but found himself traded to Phoenix at the trade deadline. That marked the third time Durant has transferred teams since joining the NBA.
KD recently moved up in the NBA’s All-Time scoring list, passing Oscar Robertson. He is just 55 points away from overtaking Hakeem Olajuwon, who is at the No. 12 spot. KD is also just 422 points away from taking No. 11 from Elgin Hayes and just 518 points away from entering the Top 10.
Aside from that, KD is also the most prolific scorer in NBA history against all 30 NBA franchises, with the 2014 NBA MVP being the only player to average at least 25 points per game against every NBA team, including the teams he has played for.

KD’s highest scoring average is against OKC
Durant has a 32.2 points per game scoring average against his original team, the Oklahoma City Thunder, and a 29.7 points per game clip against the team he won back-to-back championships with, the Golden State Warriors. Durant also has a 26.0 points per game average against the last team to trade him in, the Brooklyn Nets, and even a 27.1 points per game scoring clip against his current team, the Phoenix Suns.
KD’s current scoring average against the Thunder is KD’s highest versus any NBA franchise, and OKC is also the only team he’s averaging over 30 points per game against. Interestingly, Durant’s lowest scoring average is against the Charlotte Hornets at ‘only’ 25.0 points per game.
Overall, KD has a career-scoring average of 27.3 points per game. That’s the fourth-highest all-time scoring average in the NBA, behind only MJ’s 30.12 points per game, Wilt’s 30.07 PPG, and Elgin Baylor’s 27.36 points scoring average. Moreover, Durant’s current career scoring clip is also the highest among active NBA players.
