Despite only purchasing the Beverly Hills home a year ago, Doja Cat has listed her surprisingly tranquil home for $3.6 million (USD $2.5 million), according to Dirt.
If you were to imagine the home of Doja Cat, the quirky, irreverent international pop star, chances are you might picture an over-the-top, kitchy, very pink residence. If that sounds about right, you’ll be surprised to hear that the artist’s Californian abode is more minimalist, airy family home than flamboyant, Y2K-inspired pop pad.
Built in 1960, the Beverly Hills property is rather sparingly decorated for a pop star known for her maximalist approach to fashion. The home’s architecture has a strong art deco influence, with its asymmetric roof line and stone pillars—a theme that also permeates the home’s interiors. Housing three bedrooms and a sprawling living area, the residence retains an airy aesthetic due to the whitewashed walls and ceilings.
The home’s main living area is open plan, with the kitchen—a large curved island bench and stainless steel appliances—sitting between the living and dining rooms. Of the two guest bedrooms situated in the middle level, Doja Cat has put her inimitable spin on one of them, turning it into a 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 pink ‘glam room’—perhaps the only indication the house was formerly owned by a pop star whose debut album was entitled Hot Pink. Upstairs, the master suite assumes the entire top level, with an ample wardrobe and large bathroom complete with a concrete bathtub.
Outside, a plunge pool is surrounded by plenty of outdoor seating and potted young olive trees, with stone pillars accenting the white walls. Take a look at the singer’s serene sanctuary below.
