After Heart of Stone, Here Are 15 Exciting Gal Gadot Films to See

Watch Gal Gadot dazzle in more thrilling films like Heart of Stone and Wonder Woman.

Back in 2017, Gal Gadot took on the titular role of DC’s Wonder Woman and ended up captivating a multitude of people with her outstanding performance. Although it wasn’t her first major role, it swiftly became one of her most prominent, one that left a lasting impression. Yet, it was through her involvement in the Fast and Furious film series that Gadot truly asserted herself as a formidable presence in Hollywood. While opinions about her portrayal were somewhat divided, she managed to infuse her character with a unique blend of strength and femininity that is sometimes absent in the depictions of fierce female characters.

Recently, in Tom Harper’s Heart of Stone, which premiered on August 11, Gadot played a similar remarkable character she’s become known for — the one who ends up saving the day. In this thriller movie, she plays Agent Stone, a lethal MI6 Agent involved in a shadowy operation known as Charter. So far, there have been mixed reviews about this spy thriller, however, Gadot embodied her role well enough, garnering praise from many viewers. For those eager to see more of Gadot’s talents and stylish personality, here are more thrilling films featuring this spectacular actress.

15Red Notice (2021)

Written and directed by Rawson Marshall Turber, this action-comedy features Gadot as a sophisticated art thief and con artist, Nolan Booth, who steals the Cleopatra egg. Dwayne Johnson takes on the role of an FBI agent tasked with capturing her and retrieving the egg, while Ryan Reynolds plays Nolan’s rival. As the film progresses, an unexpected twist occurs when the FBI Agent and Nolan’s rival join forces to apprehend her.

Red Notice takes the audiences on a rollercoaster ride of twists and turns as these characters try to outwit each other in order to succeed in their diverse missions. The film is brimming with high-octane clashes, lots of funny jokes and on-screen chemistry among its stellar cast. Spanning a collection of global locales, the film is visually stunning and fast-paced like most spy thrillers. However, many feel it is just another polished Netflix blockbuster with no story.

14Wonder Woman (2017)

Set during World War I, Gadot plays Dianna Prince, an Amazonian princess and warrior raised on the hidden island of Themyscira, rejuvenating this iconic superhero tale. The story follows as she ventures into the human world to stop Ares, the God of War, and restore peace after Steve, a British spy and pilot crashes into their island. The film isn’t only a spectacle of action-packed scenes; it also weaves moments of emotional depth and character development as Diana navigates the unfamiliar world of men.

Wonder Woman was so good that it was praised for its portrayal of a strong and empowering woman protagonist, becoming a landmark for female-led blockbuster films. Gadot truly became this comic book hero by infusing the character with a blend of innocence and charisma, setting her apart from other superheroes.

13Justice League (2017)

Much like in the previous film where she played Wonder Woman, Gadot continues to bring the strength, charisma, and compassion that made her character a standout. Her portrayal was a highlight in Justice League, adding to its overall appeal. The film is set in a world without Superman and under the threat of imminent invasion by an alien force led by Steppenwolf.

Justice League, which includes Wonder Woman, Batman, Flash, Cyborg, and Aquaman, must all unite to stop Steppenwolf from getting his hands on Earth’s Mother Boxes. Justice League faced considerable criticism due to its deviation from Zack Snyder’s original vision and due to its somewhat incoherent storyline. However, despite the numerous negative reviews, the film harmoniously blends humor, visual effects, acting, pacing, and other aspects to create an entertaining superhero film, perhaps for die-hard fans of DC movies.

12Knight and Day (2010)

In James Mangold’s romantic spy-comedy, Knight and Day, we follow an ordinary woman, June Havens, whose life takes an unexpected turn when she crosses path with Ron, a charming secret agent on a mission. Throughout the movie, Ron’s trustworthiness is questioned and June must choose whether to side with him or believe the government.

Knight and Day is a fast-paced adventure film that blends seamlessly with its comedic elements, to create a light-hearted and entertaining film. The on-screen chemistry between Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz adds to the charm of the film. But of course they are not the only charming cast of the film. Gadot also dazzles as the henchwoman of the arms dealer, Antonio, in this film. Her presence is a notable addition, though many may not know of her involvement in the film, since hers is a minor role.

11Criminal (2016)

An action thriller directed by Ariel Vromen, Criminal is centered on the unique notion of memory transfer and espionage. It follows as the CIA transfers the memory of one of their best agents, who died during an interrogation, into the mind of a death row criminal named Jericho. Gadot joins the ensemble of exceptional talents, which includes Ryan Reynolds, Tommy Lee Jones, Kevin Costner, Gary Oldman, Michael Pitt, and others in making this film twisty, entertaining and fresh.

This action thriller is entertaining from start to finish, with no slow points. However, while the A-list cast undoubtedly add to the film’s entertainment value, many feel without it would have been another bland CIA film without them. Despite this, there are those who find every aspect of the film, from the camerawork, background music, dialogues and more, top-tier.

10Fast and Furious (2009)

The fourth installment within the Fast and Furious saga follows a similar plot to its predecessors, and Vin Diesel and Paul Walker stun in their performances as always. Joining them to bring all the thrills and fun are other familiar faces and new characters like Gadot ,who plays Gisele, a vital member of Dominic’s crew.

While there may not be much plot or anything new to what has been seen before, the presence of macho men, fast cars, enticing women, and adrenaline-pumping chases are often enough to excite fans of the franchise and keep them wanting more. While Gadot plays just the romantic pursuer of Dom in this installment, which marked a turning point in her career, in subsequent films she has played more important roles, which is why she’s still a solid part of the franchise.

9Triple 9 (2016)Open Road Films

In Triple 9, Gadot primarily plays Elena Vlasov, the sister of a powerful Russian-Israeli mobster played by Kate Winslet. Elena becomes entangled in the dangerous world of criminal activities orchestrated by Irina. Despite her limited role in the storyline, Gadot’s presence does contribute to the overall tension and complexity in the story. Directed by John Hilcoat, the film revolves around a group of officers and criminals who are caught up in a dangerous web of deception and violence.

Gadot’s performance is convincing as she shares the screen with a talented ensemble cast, including Winslet, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Aaron Paul, Norman Reedus, Anthony Mackie, and others. Yet, despite the caliber of its cast, Triple 9 fails to become as compelling and exceptional as it should have been. Nevertheless, it is far from being a bad movie, showcasing some excellent scenes and twists that catch many viewers off guard.

8Keeping Up with the Joneses (2016)

In this spy comedy film, Gadot plays the alluring and sophisticated Natalie Jones, who catches the attention of their neighbors upon moving into a suburban neighborhood with her husband Tim Jones. As the film progresses, viewers get to find out that this alluring couple are not who they seem to be, but undercover agents on a mission.

Keeping Up with the Joneses blends action, comedy, and espionage to present the difference between the ordinary lives of the Gaffneys and the thrilling world of espionage that the Joneses inhabit. Gadot’s portrayal of Natalie adds an element of elegance and intrigue to the film, and she also manages to be quite funny while being a total badass. While being a little predictable, the film’s steady stream of laughter and action scenes are highly entertaining. The chemistry between the four main characters aids the film a lot.

7Date Night (2010)

Prior to playing Wonder Woman, Gadot had a fleeting role in Date Night, a comedy film directed by Shawn Levy. The story revolves around a married couple whose attempt at a simple date night turns into a series of hilarious and unexpected misadventures. Steve Carrell and Tina Frey’s performances contribute humor and relatability to the storyline, while Gadot’s performance as Mark Wahlberg’s lover further enhances the film’s comedic brilliance.

Even as a minor character, Gadot manages to steal the show with her graceful presence. Date Night is a funny and heartwarming film that particularly resonates with married couples. For those who wish to see Wonder Woman in a different light and in a humorous role outside action-packed films, this movie offers a chance to see Gadot play a character outside her usual genre.

6Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021)

Also known as the Synder Cut, Zack Snyder’s Justice League presents a re-imagined version of the 2017 Justice League movie. Here, Snyder gets to showcase his true vision for the film, one that undeniably outshines the previous on3. The film picks up after Superman’s death, depicting how this event inspires the league of heroes to form an alliance to combat the evil forces led by Steppenwolf.

Under the direction of Snyder, this film that faced criticism in 2017 becomes one widely praised for its darker and more mature tone, intricate storytelling, and greater character development. Spanning over a four-hour runtime, the film presents a more coherent version of the Justice League story. It may be long but it is worth it. This film is unquestionably ranks as one of the best Gal Gadot movies ever seen.

5Death on the Nile (2022)

Based on 1937 novel of the same name by Agatha Christie and serving as a sequel to Murder on the Orient Express, this mystery film is directed by Kenneth Branagh and written by Michael Green. Set against the backdrop of the Egyptian desert, the film follows the famed detective, Hercule Poirot, whose vacation takes an abrupt turn into a chilling murder investigation on the Nile.

While Death on the Nile may be enjoyable, viewers feel it was a poor adaptation of the book and unnecessarily lengthy. Avid fans of Agatha Christie felt it deviated too much from the source material and also a far cry from the first film. Nevertheless, the film’s visuals are breathtaking, it is well-directed and the acting superb. Gadot stuns in her role as the alluring heiress Linnet Ridgeway, which aligns with her true physical appearance and poise.

4Fast Five (2011)

Gadot’s role as Gisele Yashar in Fast and Furious catapulted her into limelight and her outstanding performance secured her a memorable part within franchise’s ensemble cast, and she continues her role here, in Fast Five. Serving as the fifth installment in the Fast and Furious franchise, this action heist film follows as the main characters engage in high-stakes heist and fast-paced action.

The film unfolds as Mia, Dominic, and Brian plan a heist to steal $100 million from a corrupt business owner. In order to achieve this, they assemble a team of s𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁ed drivers and thieves, leading to the introduction of Gadot’s character, a s𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁ed driver and a member of Dominic’s crew. With well-crafted action sequences, a good storyline, awesome stunts, adrenaline-pumping heist plot, the inclusion of beloved and new characters like Dwayne, this film became one of the franchise’s best entries.

3Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)

Zack Snyder’s Batman vs Superman marks the initial introduction of Wonder Woman within the larger DC Extended Universe. The film serves as a sequel to Man of Steel and follows the great conflict between the iconic DC heroes, Batman and Superman. Gadot plays a significant role as a mysterious and powerful figure, who becomes involved in the conflict between these two. As the film progresses, it is revealed that Diana Princes is in fact Wonder Woman, setting the stage for her own solo films and involvement in other DC’s ensemble movies.

Here, she fights alongside Batman and Superman to defeat the monster created by Lex Luthor, Doomsday. While the film is deep and dark, it is often misunderstood since it fails to fully explain why these well-known characters were treading a path of turmoil and villainy. Despite this, it stands as a remarkable film.

2Fast X (2023)

Gadot has been a consistent part of the Fast and Furious franchise, but her involvement in this particular film was unexpected since she was presumed dead in Fast and Furious 6. However, given the franchise’s knack for surprising viewers with the sudden return of characters thought to be dead, Gisele’s appearance in the film’s conclusion was not so out of place. This surprising twist has stirred anticipation for the forthcoming installment in the franchise with fans hoping for an explanation behind her unexpected return from the dead.

Hopefully, she would have a more substantial role in the upcoming films, to the excitement of fans who appreciate the familial bonds in the film series. For those unfamiliar with the plot of Fast X, this one follows as Dominic does everything within his power to protect his family from the vengeful son of a drug Kingpin, Dante (Jason Momao).

1Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)

Directed by Patt Jenkins, Wonder Woman 1984 serves as the sequel to Wonder Woman, with Gadot reprising her role as Diana Prince. Set in 1984, it follows as Diana comes into the possession of the Dreamstone, which has the power to grant wishes. Diana unwittingly wishes for the resurrection of her lover (Chris Pine) and with this wish coming to life, she begins to lose her powers. Now, she must do everything in her power to save the world and restore balance.

While it may not be as brilliant or as inspiring as the first film and could leave some viewers dissatisfied, Wonder Woman 1984 had its own fine moments. Apart from being action-packed, with appealing back-stories for its characters, it also projects the message of what a true hero should be: someone who is willing to sacrifice personal gains for the wellbeing of humanity.
