Lionel Messi holds two individual titles, setting a series of great records

By helping Inter Miami win the 2023 Leagues Cup, Messi has won two individual titles. Besides, the Argentine superstar also set a series of lifetime records.

Messi continued to be the main character of Inter Miami in the 2023 Leagues Cup final against Nashville. The Argentine superstar scored a beautiful goal to open the scoring. That contributed to Inter Miami’s 1-1 draw with Nashville in official time, before winning the penalty shootout.

This is an extremely impressive tournament for Messi. This player has scored in all 7 Inter Miami matches, with a total of 10 goals. Thanks to that, El Pulga won two titles of Top Scorer and Leagues Cup Player of the Year.

Besides, the No. 10 superstar also set a series of records. With 10 goals, he became the Inter Miami player with the most goals in a particular league. Notably, Inter Miami is the team that Messi needs at least a match to reach 10 goals.

Messi is the player with the most goals scored in the finals (35 goals) and also the man with the most trophies in history (44 titles).

Not stopping there, Messi broke his own record in the finals attended. Specifically, in the past, El Pulga scored 35 goals and 15 assists after 48 finals he attended. In total, the striker has made his mark in 50 goals in the finals.

For comparison, there is no player who played the final as well as Messi. Messi’s great rival C.Ronaldo has only 22 goals and 2 assists after 36 appearances in the finals in his career.

Messi is also the player with the most trophies in football history. Winning the 2023 Leagues Cup with Inter Miami is the 44th time this player has lifted the title after nearly 20 years of fighting in his career.

After the game, his Inter Miami teammates threw Messi into the air to thank the player for his great contributions. Before El Pulga appeared, Inter Miami was in crisis but now, they have their first title in their fledgling history.
