During an interview, Gal Gadot had a lot to share about her next film Cleopatra. Gadot fans were disappointed to learn that Wonder Woman 3 is being canceled by the makers but the 38-year-old actress is thrilled to be a part of Kari Skogland’s movie. While talking about the upcoming movie about the Queen of Egypt, the Fast Five actress mentioned that she grew up listening to Cleopatra’s stories. Gadot also explained the difference between her fictional character Wonder Woman and Cleopatra. The Red Notice actress said,
“Israel borders Egypt, and I grew up with so many stories about Cleopatra, and she’s like a household name. You know, if Wonder Woman is the imaginary strong female leader, Cleopatra’s actually the real one. That’s a perfect example of a story that I wanted to tell because I started reading different books about Cleopatra, and I said, Wow, that’s fascinating.”
Gadot recalled the tales she had heard about the female ruler of Egypt and stated that all she had learned about her was that she was a seductive woman who had an affair with Marc Anthony and Julius Caesar. The Israeli actress thinks that Cleopatra was much more than that and said that she is passionate to tell her story.

During the same interview, Gadot described her passion for the story of Cleopatra. According to the Wonder Woman 1984 actress, the Queen was far-sighted and futuristic. The Heart Of Stone actress said,
“This woman was so ahead of her time. Egypt and what Egypt was back then, was still futuristic to where we are today. I can’t say much. But to me, I’m so passionate to tell her story and to bring justice to this character, and her legacy and celebrate her and her legacy. We have a beautiful script, and I cannot wait to share this story with the world and change the narrative of Cleopatra simply being a seductor.”
Many people were upset to see an Israeli actress playing the role of the Egyptian queen in Cleopatra when Gadot was first cast in the movie. The Wonder Woman actress’s casting drew negative reactions, but when her interview about the Queen of Egypt was out many people applauded her for trying to change the narrative regarding the famous queen.
