Caicedo message
Liverpool have been dealt a major blow to their hopes of signing Moises Caicedo. The 21-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this summer as Mauricio Pochettino looks to bolster his midfield, but Jurgen Klopp seems intent on hijacking the deal.
While Chelsea are yet to send the Seagulls an improved offer, they intend to do so, with Caicedo’s heart set on a move to west London. Earlier this summer, he voiced his desire to join the Blues, describing the club as a ‘very big, historic, beautiful team.
The Ecuadorian is so eager to begin working under Pochettino that he’s reportedly reached out to a few Chelsea players. According to TheSecretScout, Caicedo has told them: “I will see you soon.”
Lavia hint
Russell Martin has dropped another hint that Romeo Lavia will in fact leave Southampton. The 19-year-old midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea and Liverpool this summer following a rise to prominence on the south coast.
Following the Saints’ 4-4 draw with Norwich on Saturday afternoon, Martin suggested that the race for the teenager is ‘eeking slowly towards a conclusion’. As quoted by Alfie House of the Daily Echo, the Southampton boss said: “He has been great while his situation has rumbled on for a long time.
“That needs to draw to a conclusion quickly for him, for us and for everyone really. It’s eeking slowly towards a conclusion and I think we have been preparing for life without him for the six weeks we’ve been here so it’s not a massive drama.”
Kepa exit
Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga is set for a permanent transfer to 14-time Champions League winners Real Madrid, football.london understands.
The move comes as an urgent response by Los Blancos to replace former Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. The Belgian star who left Stamford Bridge in 2018 tore the cruciate ligament in his left knee last week, which will likely see the Belgian shot stopper out for most, if not all, of the upcoming campaign.
Bayern Munich had previously registered their formal interest in signing the 13-time capped Spain international, although both Chelsea and Kepa were less keen in accepting their proposal of a loan with a buy option, whilst Los Blancos have made a move.
