MU Wants To Surpass Liverpool For Romeo Lavia

MU Considering Pursuit of Romeo Lavia as Liverpool Appears Frustrated in Negotiations

Manchester United is reportedly weighing the option of pursuing Romeo Lavia after Liverpool seemingly grew disillusioned with persuading Southampton. The Kop has made a bid of £37 million for the 19-year-old player, but The Saints flatly rejected the offer.

MU, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal – the four major clubs in England – all desire to acquire this midfielder. All four teams have been keeping an eye on a group of players similar to Lavia, including Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina, Mohammed Kudus from Ajax, Khephren Thuram from Nice, and Moises Caicedo from Brighton.

While some of them may not be outstanding, each team looks to enhance both depth and specific aspects of their squad. The midfielder position appears to be the primary focus in this summer’s transfer window.

Transfer fees are on the rise, and the owning clubs are unwilling to lower their demands. Arsenal is pursuing Declan Rice, Chelsea is chasing Caicedo, MU is eyeing Rasmus Hojlund, and Liverpool inquired about Lavia, with the latter deal potentially reaching £50 million.

Erik ten Hag wishes to add a midfielder, but first, he needs to offload players, possibly including Brandon Williams, Donny van der Beek, Harry Maguire, Fred, and Scott McTominay, to accumulate funds.

Arsenal finds itself in a similar situation and desires to acquire Lavia. It is known that Arteta currently prioritizes Kudus and Caicedo, but both players lean towards joining Chelsea.

As for Liverpool, they need replacements for their two stars, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson. They have been the pillars of the midfield for the team throughout the 2017-22 seasons. The midfield position has become a summer obsession for the German coach. While Alexis Mac Allister and Dominic Szoboszlai are key assets, Liverpool also requires squad depth.
