NFL analyst Chris Broussard sparked a Twitter battle by saying Peyton Manning is worse to Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes in his article, “Patrick Mahomes is Third Best.”

Patrick Mahomes has undoubtedly emerged as one of the finest quarterbacks in the competition. After all, not many QBs can brag about winning 2 Super Bowl titles in just 6 seasons. When an athlete has such astounding credentials in the initial phase of his career, that man is set to be compared by the legends of the league. Which is why, NFL analyst Chris Broussard recently decided to put him above Peyton Manning on his list of top signal callers.

While some reckon that putting Mahomes on the list of all time greats at this point might not be right as he still has a lot left in the tank, it is also true that what he has already achieved in his comparatively short career, is what many stars haven’t, even after playing for well over a decade.

Chris Broussard reckons Patrick Mahomes has already surpassed Peyton Manning in the ‘Top QB’ Race

Chris Broussard, in a recent episode of First Things First, talked about Mahomes’ list of top 5 quarterbacks in the league. Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Joe Montana, Dan Marino or John Elway; these were the QBs listed by Mahomes as the best ever. However, Chris thinks that modest Mahomes actually deserves a place on the list himself.

We all know he should be there. Look, he is third best right now. It is Tom Brady, Joe Montana, Patrick Mahomes. I got him ahead of Peyton obviously,” Chris stated, reiterating that even if Mahomes stop playing right now, he has done enough to be counted as one of the finest ever.

As great as the Chiefs are, he(Mahomes) is the show,” Broussard stated, adding that Kansas City didn’t need Tyreek Hill last season. He claimed that KC’s defense isn’t that great and after letting everyone know how big a fan he is of Travis Kelce, Broussard again stated that Kansas is all about Mahomes. As one can expect, Chris’ words ended up offending a lot of people on Twitter.

Adding more spice to the debate, Chris went on to claim that as long as Mahomes continues to be in his prime, he will keep winning, even if the Chiefs make a lot of changes to their unit. “He is someone we have never seen before,” Broussard claimed.

Peyton Manning vs Patrick Mahomes, who has won more Super Bowls?

Who are best 5 quarterbacks of all time? As simple as this question sounds, giving an answer to it can attract a lot of hate online. Simply because there isn’t just one parameter for greatness. A player might win the most amount of trophies, but might not have the best of stats. On the other hand, some might carry the whole team on their shoulders and deliver the best individual numbers, but might not have as many championship wins in the kitty.

So leaving that part open for interpretation, let us have a look at the number of trophies which Peyton and Patrick have won thus far. In such a young career, Patrick has guided his unit to three Super Bowls, winning two out of them. On the other hand, Manning, who played for 17 long years in the NFL, ended his stint with two Lombardis.

However, while Manning won season MVP honors as many as 5 times, Patrick has only won it twice till now. Moreover, Manning is also known to be one of the most intelligent QBs of all time, someone who could read the gameplay with utmost agility. So who is the better of the two?
