At a Chiefs practice, Travis Kelce strikes a teammate and says he needs to be a “better teammate.”

The energy turned testy at the Chiefs training camp on Saturday after Travis Kelce caught a touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes during a drill — with the tight end throwing a punch.

The eight-time Pro Bowler and two-time Super Bowl champion caught a pass in the back in the end zone and then proceeded to punch teammate Jack Cochrane in anger after the linebacker took a late swipe at the ball, a video from Nicholas Roesch of Chiefs Wire showed.

After the swing, the two kept pushing and appeared to chirp at each other before cornerback Trent McDuffie came over to pull the two apart.

It was Kelce’s second straight day getting into a heated scuffle at Kansas City’s training camp.

On Friday, Kelce, 33, got “agitated” with a referee during practice with “more extracurricular activity than usual,” according to Pete Sweeney of Arrowhead Pride.

Kelce then got into an altercation with cornerback Dicaprio Bootle, who also went for a swipe of the ball after a play had ended.

Safety Bryan Cook and running back La’Mical Perine got in front of Kelce, pushing him away while Bootle continued to clap after the kerfuffle.

After Saturday’s incident, Kelce tweeted “Gotta be a better teammate gotta be a better leader… plain and simple.”

Chiefs coach Andy Reid said the fights serve no purpose as the team gears up for a defense of its Super Bowl title.

“Fighting is a waste of time,” Reid said, per ESPN. “You get thrown out of games doing it, you get hurt out here doing it. But they’re going to jaw. It’s hot, humid. They’re going to jaw a little bit. Just as long as there are not punches thrown, we’re all right.”

Travis Kelce has been testy the last two days at Chiefs training camp, getting into fights with teammates.

Last season, Kelce recorded 1,338 receiving yards with a career-high 12 touchdowns en route to helping the Chiefs beat the Eagles for their second Super Bowl victory.
