Erik ten Hag prepares to take an axe to Solskjaer’s Man Utd legacy as he ‘draws up eight-man transfer exit list’

ERIK TEN HAG could offload EIGHT Manchester United players to help bring in big names like Harry Kane and Mason Mount.

The Old Trafford chief is reportedly ready to shred the legacy of ex-boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – despite coming a creditable third in the Premier League and winning the EFL Cup in his debut season.

Centre-back Harry Maguire, plus midfielders Fred and Scott McTominay and frontman Anthony Martial, might be off this summer.

But the first symbol of a split from Solskjaer’s regime could see Dean Henderson turn his loan at Nottingham Forest into a permanent deal.

Solskjaer had talked up the once-capped Englishman eventually succeeding David de Gea as United’s No1.

But the Norwegian was sacked in November 2021 and, although his replacement Ralf Rangnick likewise hoped Henderson could step up, no sooner had Ten Hag arrived than the keeper was shipped to Forest.

Fringe left-backs Alex Telles and Brandon Williams are also tipped for departures this summer.

Central defender Eric Bailly can take the total number of departures to eight.

Along with Maguire exiting, possibly to Spurs or West Ham, that would clear the decks for Napoli’s Kim Min-jae to come into the backline.

But Ten Hag is thought to be equally keen on two new midfielders, as well as maintaining his hunt for a world-class frontman.

Kane tops the strike list ahead of Kim’s club-mate Victor Osimhen, Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani, pacy Atalanta ace Rasmus Hojlund and Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos.

But it’s talks with Kim and Chelsea playmaker Mount that appear to be the most advanced so far.
