After nearly 20 years of growing up in the arms of “powerful actress” Angelina Jolie, Pax Thien is now a mature, strong but no less individualistic young man.

From an orphan to the son of a powerful Hollywood couple

Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 in 2003, with the Vietnamese name Nguyen Quang Sang, and grew up at the Tam Binh Orphanage (HCMC) before being adopted by the couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt in 2007.

The boy was said to be sociable, agile, and fond of toys such as stuffed animals. After adopting him, actress Angelina Jolie hired a Vietnamese nanny to teach Pax Thien about his language, culture, and origins. In addition, the actress spent more than $600,000/year on private tutors to ensure the best quality of education for her 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren.

The actress once commented that Pax Thien was an emotional 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥, always supporting his younger siblings and treating family members gently. According to Angelina Jolie, the boy was “the best cook in the family”, often baking for his younger siblings.

The young man is passionate about art

Sharing with the media, Angelina said that at the age of 16, Pax Thien showed his passion for music and liked to be a DJ. Therefore, the family let Pax Thien study to develop in the direction he wanted.

According to PageSix in 2023, Pax Thien worked in the field of “art games”, creating works using “digital processes and mixed media” (using many means or materials to create works).

Pax Thien has used another stage name to avoid attracting media attention. This is not simply a hobby but also a passion of this young man. Pax Thien has also held several exhibitions for his products, the most recent of which was in Tel Aviv, Israel, in 2023.

Becoming a support for his mother after a series of incidents

After Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt divorced, Pax Thien became closer to his mother than his adoptive father. The boy showed his love for his mother while clearly being cold towards Brad Pitt.

Pax Thien is always by his mother’s side when the actress goes on business trips. He plays the role of assistant director, replacing his mother in communicating with other departments of the film crew. In June 2022, the Vietnamese-American boy appeared on set, wearing a walkie-talkie, often helping his mother carry things, and discussing work with the crew.

Pax Thien often goes shopping with his mother, goes to Myanmar to do charity work or goes to Cambodia for months to take behind-the-scenes photos for his mother’s first film “First They Killed My Father”.

“My 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren work very hard. I am very proud that they are independent and individualistic people,” Jolie told People.

At the age of 18, Pax Thien has shown that he is a caring boy for his mother and siblings. In an interview with Indian Vogue in mid-2020, Jolie said about her Vietnamese-American son: “Pax Thien is like the center and strength of the family. I am always grateful for the opportunity to be a mother.”
