Kanye West ‘no longer accepting orders’ on Yeezy website after fashion business slashes items’ prices to $20

As of July 3, 2024, the rapper and entrepreneur is no longer accepting orders on his popular e-commerce site, yeezy.com.

The announcement comes just days after Kanye West shut down his Yews New platform, and a few months after slashing prices on all merchandise to just $20 per item.

The yeezy.com homepage is now essentially blank, providing visitors with the date and time.

It also includes Kanye West’s latest announcement, that the popular e-commerce site is no longer operational.

“YZY IS NO LONGER ACCEPTING ONLINE PURCHASES,” the site reads.

The website also confirmed “ALL EXISTING ORDERS WILL BE FULFILLED.”

According to the site, 7,371 orders are remaining, though it’s not exactly clear whether those are orders remaining to be fulfilled.

Kanye revealed the website during a Super Bowl 2024 commercial on Sunday, February 11.

“Hey y’all, this is Ye, and this is my commercial,” the rapper told viewers, in what appeared to be a selfie video recorded inside one of his luxury vehicles.

“And since we spent all the money on the commercial spot, we actually—we didn’t spend any money on the actual commercial.”

“But the idea is I want you to go to yeezy.com,” he added.

Everything available for purchase on the rapper’s site, including Yeezy Pods, which previously retailed for around $200, was priced at $20.

In a now-deleted Instagram post, Kanye shared his aspirations for all Yeezy merchandise to be sold at discount prices.

“Gap didn’t take it to $20 the way I wanted to because they were still trying to protect the classism of the idea of Balenciaga and the idea of Gap,” he captioned the post.

He even revealed he would be crediting back $180 to anyone who purchased the Yeezy Pods at their original $200 price.

Sales on the website skyrocketed immediately, with thousands clamoring to purchase items from the Vultures rapper.

On February 12, Kanye revealed the sales numbers in a now-deleted Instagram post.

He shared that 294,357 orders had been placed less than 24 hours after the commercial aired, totaling $19.3 million in sales.

“The people have spoken Yeezy.com,” Ye captioned the post.

The rapper has yet to comment on why the site has seemingly shut down, or whether he’ll be replenishing the site with new items in the future.

The announcement also comes just days after the rapper’s news platform, Yews News, also shut down.

The news website included a mix of original content and news articles pulled from several media outlets, including The U.S. Sun.

Links to the news platform were removed from yeezy.com in early May.

It’s unclear whether the shutdowns of both Yews News and yeezy.com are related, or if they’re a result of Kanye’s attempted “cancelation” by mainstream audiences.

Kanye West has notably been “canceled” several times over the last few years, ranging from his antisemitic comments to his alleged styling of his wife Bianca Censori.

The rapper is also facing financial and legal issues due to lawsuits from former Yeezy and Donda Academy staffers, along with a private arbitration battle with Adidas.

Kanye West has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing, asking for the complaints to be dismissed – and for his attorney’s fees to be covered.

Kanye, who has called the accusations “baseless,” and his legal claim have also stated that he “did not authorize, direct or ratify any wrongful conduct,” as reported by The Los Angeles Times.

In court documents, Adidas claimed Kanye’s “racist, antisemitic, and other offensive public statements and conduct” caused “considerable damage to its brand.”

Yeezy fans and shopping enthusiasts will have to settle for sourcing vintage and previous limited-release items for sale until the rapper decides what’s next for the infamous brand.
