Taylor Swift takes over Edinburgh as map shows customised ‘tasting trail’ with themed food and drinks in honour of the singer – ahead of her first UK dates of the Eras Tour

Scottish Swifties can indulge in a series of themed cocktails, brunches, events – and even customised piercings – in honour of their favourite artist, as she kicks off her weekend of concerts in Edinburgh.

The capital is set to be inundated with fans making their way for performances of the star’s record-breaking Eras Tour at the Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Local businesses have devised a ‘Taylored Tasting trail’ inviting fans to immerse themselves in the experience.

The Eras Tour UK & Ireland fan account on X shared a map, created by Forever Edinburgh, showing a handy guide of the various activities available across the city.

‘Running over the weekend of Taylor’s Edinburgh concerts, local leisure and hospitality businesses will be showcasing Taylor Swift-inspired cocktails, mocktails, afternoon teas, ice creams, desserts, and cupcakes inspired by her iconic songs,’ the event’s website reads.

Photos from the city have shown shop windows dolled up with sparkles, glitter, and tinsel – reminiscent of Taylor’s colourful glitzy tour looks – and friendship bracelet imagery, which has been a key feature of her shows.

One clothing shop, Pie in the Sky, even featured a mannequin holding a guitar, in an X snap shared by American fan @mizticlady and reposted by the Eras tour fan account.

Bars, pubs, and restaurants have also offered up ‘Taylor’s Version’ menus.

Le Petit Beefbar Cocktail has assigned the singer’s songs to existing items on sale, and shared the selection in a fun Instagram reel on their social media.

It featured polaroid snaps of the cocktails, in an homage to Taylor’s original 1989 album cover.

Elsewhere, piercing shop Laura Bond is offering Taylor themed piercings and, according to its website, a ‘glitter bar’ and ‘luxury friendship bracelets’ will be available.

An Instagram video showed excited staff setting up glamorous decor ahead of the exciting weekend.

It comes as Taylor Swift mania in the UK is reaching boiling point with her arrival in Edinburgh imminent as fans visiting Scotland sell out hotels and race to buy merchandise.

Loch Tay, the largest loch in Perthshire, has been officially renamed Loch Tay Tay this morning to celebrate the 34-year-old bringing her record-breaking Eras Tour to Scotland on Friday.

Bagpipes played renditions of Taylor Swift songs at the renaming ceremony where a sign at the edge of the water was unveiled bearing the ancient beauty spot’s new name.

As anticipation for the superstar’s arrival builds, the radio station Heart Scotland last week asked listeners to pitch ideas on how best to honour the superstar’s arrival and Loch Tay Tay was chosen.

Scotland’s First Minister, John Swinney – now dubbed Swinney the Swiftie – gave his seal of approval and said: ‘First thing I want to say to Taylor and all of her Swifties is they’re really welcome here in Scotland.

‘The fact that Loch Tay is being renamed Loch Tay Tay is just fabulous, I really hope she has the chance to go see it.’

The Scottish capital has been gripped by Swiftmania ahead of the performances with huge signs in shop windows welcoming fans to the city.

Councillor Val Walker, head of Edinburgh Council’s culture and communities committee, said: ‘As we get ready to welcome hundreds of thousands of Swifties to our vibrant city, we are eager for everyone to have an enjoyable experience, not only at the show, but on their way before and after.

‘Whilst we relish hosting the biggest and best events and want everyone attending to truly enjoy themselves, it’s important that we’re conscious of our residents.

‘We ask that visitors are considerate and respectful of them whilst enjoying our fantastic capital city.

‘These concerts are just the start of an amazing summer of events and culture here in Edinburgh.’
