Lovebirds Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez attracted attention when attending the famous fashion event Met Gala for the first time.
Vogue describes the pair as looking elegant and outstanding when wearing a monochrome style with black and white tones at the morning event on May 7 (Hanoi time). Sánchez, 54, stunned in a designer dress inspired by flowers and broken glass – partly from Louis Comfort Tiffany’s iconic glasswork. Vogue Global Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour is her consultant and chooses ideas.
The beauty called the dress a work of art, unique and giving a feminine feeling. The design is recreated from the original in Oscar de la Renta’s Fall/Winter 2024 Art Nouveau collection.
Last year, creative directors Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim first sent Lauren Sánchez sketches of potential Met Gala dresses. Many of them were 𝓈ℯ𝓍y with low cutouts, but Sánchez wanted to choose something different from his usual glamorous style.
With his fiancée, the Amazon founder wore a tuxedo with a bow tie. When asked by Vogue what the most beautiful accessory was at this year’s Met Gala, Sánchez replied humorously: “It’s Jeff!”.
This year’s Met Gala continues to take place at the Metropolitan Museum of Fine Arts, USA with the theme Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, honoring timeless and long-lasting outfits. It’s impossible to wear and can only be displayed in a glass cage, like a sleeping princess.
The event will display about 250 items spanning more than 400 years of history, including 15 important items such as Charles Frederick Worth’s silk satin evening gown in 1877.
This year’s red carpet dress code – The Garden of Time – also reflects the theme of time like the exhibition. The four hosts of the gala include Jennifer Lopez, Zendaya, Bad Bunny and Chris Hemsworth.
