Kendall and Kylie Jenner’s sibling rivalry is nonexistent.
As the cover star of Vogue’s Summer 2024 issue, Kendall opened up about the future of her career, which she “never thought of as a competition” with anyone but herself. The 28-year-old supermodel credited her “awesome sisters” who never turned their lives into a war of who has more.
“You would think it’s the opposite,” she said of having siblings. “Even with my little sister — the biggest thing we would fight over was the TV remote. There was never that who’s-better-dressed, who’s-prettier thing. It was always: You’re you, I’m me.
”Instead of contending with one another, the Jenner sisters have collaborated on several makeup and clothing projects, including launching their joint PacSun line Kendall + Kylie in 2016.
“We’ve always remained close, but over the years the two of us have just matured. We’ve really kind of found our own identities, which I think was important to us both. For years we were really stuck as a duo and now we’ve truly become our own people,” Kendall wrote on her website and app in November 2015.
Kendall has also previously been open about how their relationship has grown — particularly after Kylie, 26, became a mom. In a June 2023 episode of The Kardashians, Kendall said of her little sis, “In the most positive ways, a lot changed when she had [daughter] Stormi, just because obviously she had a bigger purpose in life at that point. I think she grew a lot, I think our relationship grew a lot.”
Kendall and Kylie will be back on screen with the rest of their sisters Kim, Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian on May 23 when the newest season of Hulu’s The Kardashians premieres. Season 5 of the reality series sees the Kardashian-Jenner clan jet across the world for Fashion Week together.
“Fashion Week, a really fun part of my career is doing it with my sisters,” Kendall said in the May 8 trailer, as Kylie added, “We’re just a good team.”
With the highs of their careers come the lows of their personal life as well, the trailer revealed. Matriarch Kris Jenner sat her daughters down to tearfully share that doctors found “a cyst and a little tumor.” The following scene saw Kendall comfort Kylie as she broke down in tears.
Despite being close with her family members, Kendall, the only Kardashian-Jenner sibling without kids, told Vogue she’s enjoying life “a bit removed” from them, as she doesn’t live within walking distance from Kris.
“There are days when I look at what they have and think, ‘That’s really special,’” she admitted to Vogue. “One day I’ll make my way, probably.”
She continued, “When I was younger I used to say that by 27 I’d love to have kids. Now I’m past that and I feel like I’m still so young. I’m enjoying my kidless freedom.”
