Injured quarterback Aaron Rodgers ‘plans to make surprise appearance at Sunday’s Jets-Chiefs game’ amid report

Aaron Rodgers is set to attend Sunday night’s showdown between the New York Jets and the Kansas City Chiefs, as it’s been revealed that Taylor Swift will also be among the crowd for this weekend’s game.

The Jets quarterback, who’s been rehabilitating a torn Achilles back in his native California over the last two weeks, needs clearance from doctors first before flying out to East Rutherford, New Jersey, according to ESPN’s Rich Cimini.

‘Once he’s cleared, he’s flying out,’ confirmed the long-time NFL reporter.

Reports of Rodgers traveling back to the Northeast have been surfacing since the 39-year-old hinted at a return to the area during the Jets’ 15-10 loss to the Patriots on the Pat McAfee show, earlier this week.

‘You never know who you’re going to see at the game,’ the four-time MVP said.

Rodgers could bump into Taylor Swift, who will reportedly fly out to NYC for Sunday’s game so she can watch her new beau and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce play for a second week in a row

Regardless of whether he comes home or not, NFL fans in the Big Apple are already hyped ahead of Sunday’s Week 4 game, as Swift, who’s been dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, will be at MetLife Stadium to watch her new beau take on Gang Green, according to The New York Post.

Swift already attended Kansas City’s last game, a 41-10 win against the Chicago Bears, last Sunday at Arrowhead. In that game, Kelce had seven receptions for a touchdown and 69 yards.

Rodgers, who has a compression sleeve on his lower left leg, said that he’d like to return to New Jersey once he would be able to walk in another appearance on The Pat McAfee show form earlier this month.

‘I’d like to be able to walk so whenever I can walk then I’ll probably be back in [New] Jersey,’ he said.

To add to that, Rodgers also revealed that he’s been checking in with his teammates ‘every single day,’ including backup quarterback Zach Wilson, offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett and tight end C.J. Uzomah.

‘The guys have been great keeping in touch with me,’ he said. ‘I miss the guys it’s hard to be away from them. We’ve got a couple home games in a row … so hopefully I’ll be able to get back there at some point but I’d like to be walking.’

Kelce is line to play against the Jets and will look forward to scoring another TD in front of Swift

Rodgers, 39, suffered a season-ending torn Achilles injury in the Jets’ first game of the season

Rodgers tore his Achilles during a sack by Bills edge rusher Leonard Floyd, just four snaps into his Jets debut on September 11.

The 2011 Super Bowl champ vowed to return to the gridiron following surgery for his season-ending injury and didn’t rule himself out from returning late this season.

‘There’s been some good days and some bad days for sure,’ Rodgers said of his rehab so far on McAfee’s ESPN show.

‘… I’m making a lot of progress. Every day it’s a little something, a little less swelling, a little more movement, a little more mobility, a little more strength, so we’re building it up and trust the process.’

When asked if he could take on a temporary role as a player-coach while finding his way back from injury, Rodgers told AJ Hawk – a co-host on McAfee’s show and an ex-Packers teammate – that he’s unsure what his plans are for the remainder of the year.

‘I don’t think I can be on the sideline until I can avoid guys running over – that might be in my way,’ he said. ‘I don’t know what they would want.

‘I don’t know if I’m going to be hanging with [Jets owner] Woody [Johnson] and Christopher [Johnson] in the owners box,’ he concluded while chuckling.
