Argentine media were not too impressed with what they saw from Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez on international duty last night.
TYC Sports said he was not too noticeable in his performance for the majority of last night, until he changed positions with half an hour to go.
Fernandez came up against a familiar face last night as Argentina got their World Cup qualifying campaign up and running.

He took on Moises Caicedo and a resolute Ecuador side, who were only undone by a free-kick from Lionel Messi.
The world’s best ever played provided this magic despite having been clattered earlier in the day by Chelsea’s record signing.
Enzo Fernandez performance ‘strange’
Their second top signing, Fernandez, was on the winning side, and notably provided a sensational piece of s𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁 to play in his teammate down the left.
However, with the brilliance he possesses he obviously now carries much higher expectations for his national team than he did before the World Cup victory last winter.

TYC Sports were therefore not particularly impressed by his performance for the majority of the evening, saying he did little to impact the game.
He said: “Enzo Fernandez: 6. Strangely vague the first half hour. When he changed positions with Alexis he improved noticeably. The last half hour had him at his level.”
Fernandez is going to play a crucial role for the Blues when club football returns in a week’s time, with him likely to continue to portray a midfield duo with his opponent last night, Caicedo.
