Louis Borrill and his fiancee Yeridiana Chazares had been visiting her family in Bᴀʟᴛɪᴍᴏʀᴇ for a surprise ʙᴀʙʏ sʜᴏᴡᴇʀ but after she woke up the following day with what seemed to be a sᴛʀᴏɴɢ ꜰᴇᴠᴇʀ, they decided to go to hospital in nearby Rᴏᴄᴋᴠɪʟʟᴇ. After hours of hospital sᴄᴀɴs, doctors said Yeridiana was actually in ᴘʀᴇ-ᴛᴇʀᴍ ʟᴀʙᴏᴜʀ. They said the waiting period could have been anywhere between a few hours to a few months, and they would have stay in hospital until the ʙᴀʙʏ ᴡᴀs ʙᴏʀɴ.
Louis said: “I don’t even know how I could possibly describe that 24-hour period. We were scrambling around trying to figure out what we had to do and were both obviously very ɴᴇʀᴠᴏᴜs. But we knew we had to ʀᴇᴍᴀɪɴ ᴄᴀʟᴍ, knowing our 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 could come at any point. Our beautiful Lily decided she had enough of waiting around and came to us two days after her ʙᴀʙʏ sʜᴏᴡᴇʀ and three months earlier than we expected”.
Baby Lily Borrill was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 the following morning – well ahead of the November ᴅᴜᴇ ᴅᴀᴛᴇ and weighing just 1lb, 11oz – and may not be ᴅɪsᴄʜᴀʀɢᴇᴅ from hospital for three or four months, meaning the family cannot return to their home in Sᴄᴜɴᴛʜᴏʀᴘᴇ, Lincolnshire until then. Louis said: “Obviously, we were sʜᴏᴄᴋᴇᴅ by this, we planned to have Lily in Sᴄᴜɴᴛʜᴏʀᴘᴇ and then we find out that we’re going to have to have her 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 here, and in the back of our minds realising what was going to come. With Lily being 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 so ᴘʀᴇᴍᴀᴛᴜʀᴇ, she was ɴᴏᴛ ᴍᴏᴠɪɴɢ and ᴄᴏᴜʟᴅ ɴᴏᴛ ʙʀᴇᴀᴛʜᴇ and needed ᴀ ʙʀᴇᴀᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴛᴜʙᴇ fitted to sᴀᴠᴇ ʜᴇʀ ʟɪꜰᴇ. Since then, Lily has sᴛᴏᴘᴘᴇᴅ ʙʀᴇᴀᴛʜɪɴɢ twice and had to be ʀᴇsᴜsᴄɪᴛᴀᴛᴇᴅ last week after having a ʜᴇᴀʀᴛ ᴍᴜʀᴍᴜʀ, which doctors hoped could be ᴛʀᴇᴀᴛᴇᴅ with ᴍᴇᴅɪᴄᴀᴛɪᴏɴ. Dᴜᴇ to being so ᴘʀᴇᴍᴀᴛᴜʀᴇ, Lily also still has ᴀ ᴠᴇssᴇʟ called a Pᴀᴛᴇɴᴛ ᴅᴜᴄᴛᴜs ᴀʀᴛᴇʀɪᴏsᴜs (P.D.A), which babies ʟᴏsᴇ when they are 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧. She is set to be ʀᴇᴠɪᴇᴡᴇᴅ by a ᴄᴀʀᴅɪᴏʟᴏɢɪsᴛ who will determine if she will need further sᴜʀɢᴇʀɪᴇs after being ᴄʜᴇᴄᴋᴇᴅ.
She said: “she spoke about the ᴘᴀɪɴ of seeing her first-𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 having to be put in an ɪɴᴄᴜʙᴀᴛᴏʀ and continuing to be monitored by doctors and sᴘᴇᴄɪᴀʟɪsᴛ sᴜʀɢᴇᴏɴs. Having ᴄᴏɴᴛʀᴀᴄᴛɪᴏɴs and a ᴄ-sᴇᴄᴛɪᴏɴ doesn’t compare to the ᴘᴀɪɴ I felt seeing my first-𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 in an ɪɴᴄᴜʙᴀᴛᴏʀ covered in ᴛᴜʙᴇs and tinier than I could have ever imagined. All day I blamed myself, thinking that if maybe I had done something differently Lily would have made it to full term. The doctors say Lily is doing great ʙʀᴇᴀᴛʜɪɴɢ, moving and hopefull getting stronger and stronger. I can’t wait to have her home”.
Yeridiana said: But after five months away from home they have just celebrated her first 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡day in Sᴄᴜɴᴛʜᴏʀᴘᴇ, North Lincs. It was a celebration of her strength. We kept thinking ‘Wow you did it Lily, you really made it’. She continues to ᴀᴍᴀᴢᴇ us and we feel so grateful to have her home happy and healthy.
