Chelsea transfer news: With Chelsea on the hunt for another forward before the close of the summer transfer window, Liverpool star Darwin Nunez is the latest wild link for the Blues

Chelsea fans have theorised that Liverpool star Darwin Nunez could be the mystery forward that joins the club before the end of the summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old joined the Reds last summer from Benfica in a deal worth up to £85million, with hopes that he would reach his potential. Nunez is an expert in creating chaos, with his deceptively quick running style to his large frame, meaning he is a difficult man to defend against.
His issues came in consistency surrounding his technical game, be it his first touch, decision-making or the composure to apply the right finish. While the move to Anfield has not quite been the roaring success that Erling Haaland’s deal to Manchester City was last summer, there’s still hope of unlocking a top player.
Whether that will be with the Merseyside outfit or elsewhere remains to be seen, with Chelsea becoming a recent rumoured switch for the Uruguayan international. The Blues have undergone a huge transformation in the last 18 months, with new ownership changing the club from top to bottom.
Boehly-Clearlake have been most notable for the aggression with which they are recruiting players in the three transfer markets they have had so far. The spending is nearing the £1billion mark, with several transfer records broken on young talent that could dominate football in the future.
The one thing they have not quite managed to solve yet is the goalscoring, though additions of Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson this summer were purchased looking to do just that. There could yet be one more attacker on their radar before the end of the window next week, with rumours appearing over the Blues making contact for 24-year-old Nunez though.
