Stephen Curry, the two-time MVP of the Golden State Warriors, began his Under Armour Asian Tour with a visit to the country from September 6–8. Because “basketball is a way of life in the Philippines,” as Under Amour put it, Curry was picked for his first visit there.

After being welcomed by local supporters at the airport, the Warriors point guard remarked, “Coming out of the airport seeing like 250 fans trying to get a picture and something like that is the part that I still want to enjoy.”

During a press conference held at BGC, Curry attributed his desire to return to the Philippines to the support and encouragement he has been receiving from Filipino fans.

Curry was also offered a taste of the popular Filipino dessert known as “halo-halo,” which is made of shaved ice, yam, and fruits. Anthony Bourdain has even raved about how good it is. For travelers to the Philippines, this is a must-do experience.

While in the country, Curry participated in the Under Armour Southeast Asia 3×3 competition at the Mall of Asia Arena, where he and his father Dell Curry triumphed against other father-and-daughter teams.
