The Suns are one of the only NBA teams Bronny James is set to work out with, but it seems Phoenix have much bigger plans involving LeBron James.
Speculation about LeBron coming to Phoenix began late last week, when NBA insider Shams Charania reported that the Suns would work out Bronny ahead of the draft.
“The Phoenix Suns will conduct a workout with Bronny James ahead of the June NBA Draft, sources say,” Charania said on X. “Phoenix has the 22nd pick and he is among several players in consideration. Bronny has over 10 workout invites but is expected to only visit a few teams, including Lakers and Suns.”
Now, NBA journalist Evan Sidery has added even more fuel to the fire after reporting that the Suns are legitimately considering drafting Bronny in the hopes the franchise can also snag LeBron in the process.
“The Suns are hoping to pursue LeBron James this offseason, which is why Bronny James is a very serious draft option at No. 22 overall to potentially lure him in,” Sidery said on X.
“Phoenix appears to believe they can convince LeBron to join forces with Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal to create a historic superteam.
“LeBron would be sacrificing almost $50 million next season, if he were to legitimately consider joining the Suns on a veteran’s minimum contract.
“Could the Suns really be plotting LeBron and Bronny as their big plan? It certainly seems that’s on the table.”
After flaming out in the first round of the playoffs, it is clear Phoenix need a new game plan.
It’s difficult to see LeBron taking a huge pay cut in order to play with his son, but until he resigns with the Lakers over the summer, the possibility remains on the table.
