Here are 5 trade offers that even the Golden State Warriors wouldn’t be able to refuse for Stephen Curry this summer

Stephen Curry has been untouchable in Golden State but there are five trade offers the Warriors simply can’t refuse.

5 Trade Offers Even The Warriors Wouldn't Refuse For Stephen Curry This Summer

The Golden State Warriors dynasty might be officially over. There were murmurings about the four-time NBA champions toppling, and we might have seen the straw that broke the camels’ back last night when the Warriors were bounced by the Sacramento Kings in the play-in tournament 118-94.

After a turbulent season that saw the Warriors finish 10th in the Western Conference and key players such as Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, and Andrew Wiggins struggling, the franchise needs to make changes and the player who could be traded is none other than Stephen Curry.

Curry, at 36 years old, needs to do what is best for his career because he will be 37 next season as he approaches the final years in the league. In other words, the point guard needs to place himself in the best position to win at least one more NBA championship. Golden State would only consider trading their greatest-ever play if he requests a trade, and if that happens, there are five offers that the Warriors can’t refuse this summer.

Cleveland’s Second Savior

Stephen Curry - Cleveland Cavaliers

Cleveland Cavaliers Receive: Stephen Curry

Golden State Warriors Receive: Darius Garland, Jarrett Allen, Caris LeVert, 2025 Second-Round Pick (MIL)

The trade between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors, which would see Stephen Curry heading to Cleveland in exchange for Darius Garland, Jarrett Allen, Caris LeVert, and a 2025 second-round pick from the Milwaukee Bucks, is undeniably intriguing. Curry returning to his hometown of Akron, Ohio, where LeBron James previously brought an NBA championship to the Cavaliers in 2016, adds an emotional and symbolic layer to the deal.

On the court, the addition of Curry to the Cavaliers would undoubtedly elevate the team to a new level. Pairing Curry with Donovan Mitchell (26.6 PPG), assuming he re-signs with the Cavaliers with the world’s greatest shooter by his side, would create one of the most dynamic backcourts in the NBA. Curry’s unparalleled shooting and playmaking abilities, combined with Mitchell’s scoring prowess and defensive tenacity, would make the Cavaliers a formidable offensive force.

Additionally, with Evan Mobley (15.7 PPG, 9.4 RPG) continuing to develop and potentially taking the next leap in his career, the Cavaliers would have a promising young core to build around even with Jarrett Allen departing in the trade. Other than the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks, the Cleveland Cavaliers would have the best duo in the East and a base to build over the next two or three seasons.

A Superteam Formed In Miami

Miami Heat Receive: Stephen Curry

Golden State Warriors Receive: Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson, Nikola Jovic, 2029 First-Round Pick

For the Miami Heat, acquiring Curry would undeniably transform them into a championship contender. With Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo already leading a strong defensive unit, adding Curry’s offensive firepower would address Miami’s significant weakness on that end of the floor. Miami ranked 3rd in defense but only 26th in offense, meaning they need help in that sense. With Curry joining forces with Butler and Adebayo, the Heat would boast a dynamic trio capable of competing at the highest level and challenging for an NBA championship.

Curry’s elite shooting and playmaking abilities would not only improve the team’s offensive efficiency but also create more opportunities for Butler and Adebayo to excel. Furthermore, Curry would thrive in Miami’s culture of hard work, discipline, and a winning mentality. Playing in a big market and being surrounded by defensive-minded veterans who are committed to winning would likely rejuvenate Curry and enable him to see out his career at a high level and almost guarantee a fifth championship on his resume.

On the other hand, the Golden State Warriors would receive a package of young and promising players in Herro, Robinson, and Jovic, along with a future first-round pick. Herro and Robinson are both talented shooters who could fit well in the Warriors’ system, while Jovic would provide additional frontcourt depth.

Oklahoma City’s All-In Plan For 2025

Stephen Curry - Oklahoma City Thunder

Oklahoma City Thunder Receive: Stephen Curry

Golden State Warriors Receive: Jalen Willimas, Josh Giddey, Luguentz Dort, 2025 First-Round Pick, 2027 First-Round Pick (LAC), 2028 Second-Round Pick

The Oklahoma City Thunder have already shocked the NBA world by clinching the first seed in the West this season, led by MVP candidate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (30.1 PPG) and Rookie of the Year contender Chet Holmgren (16.5 PPG, 7.9 RPG). Acquiring Curry would undoubtedly accelerate their contention timeline and create a dominant Big Three with Gilgeous-Alexander and Holmgren.

Curry’s playoff experience and elite shooting would add a new dimension to the Thunder’s offense, which already ranked 3rd in the league this season. His ability to space the floor and create scoring opportunities for his teammates would perfectly complement Gilgeous-Alexander’s playmaking and Holmgren’s versatile s𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁 set.

Furthermore, Curry’s presence would provide valuable leadership and championship experience to a young Thunder roster, helping to guide and mentor the team as they continue to develop and grow. His fit into Oklahoma City’s floor-spacing system would make the Thunder’s offense even more potent and difficult to defend, making them a formidable opponent in the Western Conference.

On the other hand, the Golden State Warriors would receive a package of young and promising players in Williams, Giddey, and Dort, along with future draft picks. Williams and Giddey have shown significant potential in their young careers, and Dort is known for his defensive prowess. The additional draft picks would provide the Warriors with valuable assets to continue building and shaping their roster for the future.

A Dominant Duo With Victor Wembanyama

Stephen Curry - San Antonio Spurs

San Antonio Spurs Receive: Stephen Curry

Golden State Warriors Receive: Devin Vassell, Keldon Johnson, 2025 First-Round Pick (ATL), 2027 First-Round Pick, 2026 Second-Round Pick

For the San Antonio Spurs, acquiring Stephen Curry would instantly transform them into a playoff contender next season. Pairing Curry with Victor Wembanyama, a budding superstar with exceptional size, length, and defensive prowess, would create a dominant duo that could anchor the Spurs’ roster for years to come. Curry’s elite shooting and playmaking abilities, combined with Wembanyama’s defensive s𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁s and rim protection, would form a dynamic pairing that could elevate the Spurs to the upper echelon of the NBA.

Additionally, Curry’s championship experience and leadership would provide invaluable guidance to a young Spurs roster, helping to accelerate their development and establish a winning culture in San Antonio. The Spurs desperately needed a point guard to elevate Wembanyama’s impact and Curry in Gregg Popovich’s system would be incredible to witness.

On the other hand, the Golden State Warriors would receive a package of young and talented players in Vassell and Johnson, along with future draft picks. Vassell has shown potential as a versatile wing with defensive capabilities, while Johnson is a solid scorer and rebounder. The additional draft picks would provide the Warriors with valuable assets to continue building and shaping their roster for the future.

A Blockbuster Point Guard Swap

Stephen Curry - Charlotte Hornets

Charlotte Hornets Receive: Stephen Curry

Charlotte Hornets Receive: LaMelo Ball, Tre Mann, Nick Richards, 2027 First-Round Pick (DAL), 2024 Second-Round Pick (OKC)

For the Charlotte Hornets, acquiring Stephen Curry could be a transformative move that elevates their franchise and changes their culture. Despite finishing 13th in the Eastern Conference with only 21 wins, the Hornets have promising young talent in Brandon Miller, who is budding as an offensive star. A two or three-year rental of Curry could provide the Hornets with a much-needed veteran presence and leadership, helping to accelerate the development of their young players and elevate their performance on the court.

Curry’s elite shooting and playmaking abilities would also create more scoring opportunities for Miller and the rest of the Hornets’ roster, potentially propelling them up the Eastern Conference standings and into contention to become a presence for the first time since 2015-16 when they rook the Miami Heat to seven games in the first round of the playoffs.

On the other hand, the Golden State Warriors would receive LaMelo Ball, a dynamic young point guard with significant potential, along with Tre Mann, Nick Richards, and future draft picks. Keeping Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody would allow the Warriors to rebuild their roster around a young core, while Ball’s playmaking and court vision could potentially fill the void left by Curry’s departure.
